Abstract

The design and manufacturing of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capable of carrying a small CubeSat payload.

Project Details

The UAV is required to be a maneuverable FAA-compliant aircraft capable of carrying a payload. Combined, the craft and payload should weigh no more than 5 pounds on take-off and should be able to be re-flown multiple times.

Project Objective 

Impress instructor with a UAV capable of flying with a small payload, with a budget of $1200 by 4 students in 13 weeks.

Mission Needs

Fly and re-fly an unmanned aircraft with a payload of up to 20 passengers represented by eggs (and later a CubeSat), loaded without disassembling, following FAA regulations and without exceeding 5 kg on takeoff.
